Friday 19th June
Dear Class R parents and carers,
Thank you for your continued support and great responses to the work which has been set this week. The children have been producing some absolutely wonderful writing throughout the week and should all feel very proud of themselves.
The children have been doing such a super job and I have really enjoyed seeing everything they have sent through.
This morning I would like the children to have a go at the Red words session in the attached video. The format is as before and I would like them to have a go first and then go through afterwards and watch for where I say the words.
After this I would like the children to watch the video where I go through a set of green words. I will say them first and I would like the children to have a go at writing them out. After this I would like them to watch the remainder of the video to see how the words are spelt and check and see how they got on. These words are quite difficult, as it is easy to miss the sounds in the middle of the words, and we will be practising these over the coming weeks.
Following this I would like the children to work on being a bit creative and see if they can come up with an inventive way of transporting something from one spot to another, like the Grinlings do with Mr Grinling's lunch. They can either use things around the house to build their invention or alternatively they may prefer to draw a picture of their invention.
After this I would like the children to listen to the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Rescue'. Poor Mr Grinling keeps falling asleep throughout the story. Can the children think of a way to wake up Mr Grinling or help him to stay awake?
After this I would like the children to try the 'Addition and Subtraction Facts to 20' 2do on Purple Mash. This is a pairs game looking at the two numbers they need to add together to equal 20.
Please note that Mrs Benney has set some super challenges throughout the week and will be setting another one today. Therefore if you could try some of these challenges that would be fantastic.
