Remote Learning
Remote Learning
In order to facilitate the ongoing education of the children at Clyst St Mary Primary School during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have set up a programme of learning covering three tiers of absence:
- A child is absent for one day whilst isolating or waiting for the result of a Covid-19 test
- A child is absent for more than one day
- A bubble is required to isolate due to a case of Covid-19 in that bubble
Every absence starts at Tier 1 - therefore the first 24 hours of absence is covered by the work provided in the 24-hour Learning Pack
If a child's absence continues after the first day we move to Tier 2, a bespoke, well-sequenced, curriculum led scheme of work which follows the delivery of the lessons in class. We realise the importance of aligning the remote learning with the learning that is happening in school. This work is provided via Google Classroom (or Tapestry for Class R) and will have links to a variety of resources covering all curriculum subjects. The teacher will feedback to the child isolating once a day.
At Tier 3 the whole bubble including the teacher will be self isolating for 14 days. Following the Tier 1 emergency provision, the teacher will plan and deliver all learning, following as much as possible the work that would have been taught in school. This work is provided via Google Classroom (or Tapestry for Class R) and will have links to variety of resources covering all curriculum subjects. The teacher will be available online from 9am to 3pm to provide support and feedback to pupils.
For more detailed information please read our Remote Learning policy, which explains expectations and the role of parents and children as well as school staff.
