School council

We have a very active School Council which is made up with children from each class, who represent the views of their friends and peers.

They are very active in fundraising both for the school and for charity events. The funding that they raise for the school is usually for something that they have highlighted that they would like eg playground equipment which they are then asked to help choose.

The School Council also have a role to play in the recruitment of new teachers and, as well as showing interviewees around the school, they get to meet and chat to them. Their feedback is always taken into account.

All of this is a great way for the children to have ownership of their school and feel involved in some of the decisions made about their environment and their wellbeing.
